A Family Affair
Echo’s was founded over 40 years ago. My mother, Joan Howell, opened the store, and I have followed in her footsteps (or, have tried) the whole way. At 87 years young, she still stops by. If you happen to be one of the lucky ones to see her when she is in the shop, be sure to say hello and have a chat. She loves to discuss the days when the department stores had huge china departments, and Birks still carried flatware. She’s got many stories about going to England and visiting all the potters: Wedgwood, Royal Doulton… and going to Ireland and the Waterford Factory. In London, she made connections with Harrods and Selfridge’s, who still refer us customers today.
Meet Hannah

Most of you are aware of this mother-daughter team, but you might not be aware that one of our cousins also works with Echo’s. Hannah manages our social media and she has a big enthusiasm for all the china, silver, and crystal, and it shows in her posts. We are thrilled that Hannah is heading to London for about a year. She will be working and exploring the UK. Given this, we thought it would be interesting to showcase some content and pictures from the place where many of our collections originated. I encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram as we post and share with you the love of fine things.
Good luck Hannah and we will be watching out for your posts.
